Iv got a set of angel eyes on my car as it stands , they came on the car but also got supplied with original lights, now I'm thinking of tidying up the front and I think the angel eyes don't give the car a clean enough look for me, they have got 8k hid's in them now but I'm wondering if I change back what bulbs to go for? Do I go for a new set of hid's or get some decent normal bulbs?? I want an 8k colour still. The hid's that are on now don't fit the original lights as far as I'm aware? What are people's opinions? Angel eyes or standard lights with fly eyes or a light tint and what bulbs???

I'm not a big fan of angel eyes on leons myself so would personally go for a set of standard lights fitted with 6k hids. 8k are a bit blue for my liking. I'd stay away from fly eyes too as it looks pap up close, a light tint might look nice if you're dead set on having darker lights, this will take off some of the extra glare given off by the HIDs too so will keep everybody happy.

You could potentially keep the angel eyes and just turn off the halos, presuming theyre wired in that is, and keep HIDs in the projectors though.

I think I want to bin the angel eyes its not the look I want really, they look smart don't get me wrong but think I want a more oem look now to be honest! I may swap them over and get some decent bulbs or replace the hid's that are on. Just need to clean the old ones up and sort tinting them I guess!

Prefer standard lights, on the bulb front I would say Osram Nightbreaker Plus. Amazing light output with them however wont get the same colour as the hids, could also look at the Phillips bulbs. Think some of them have a blue tint but are a bit more expensive.

Personally I'd bin the angel eyes, and spend the money on something else ;)
Another vote for Osram Nightbreaker Plus, ECP sell them cheap enough

What are the night breakers like compared to hid's tho? Ideally I wanted a blueish light like 8k? They do a gold tipped version of the nightbreakers as well, why are they like compared to the normal ones

My night breakers are a real pure white, similar to a 4k hid kit, if you still want a blue tint in your lights then you're better off keeping your 8ks. I've not seen the output of the gold tipped night breakers yet.

I can't imagine it was easy to fit to be honest! Don't think I want to go down that route as its a lot of hassle

These are Philips Blue vision and Philips Diamond Vision for comparison, the Diamond vision claim to be nearer to 6k and as close to HID you can get from a standard bulb. They are technically for show use only though!

They're not really that blue but are a really nice blueish white and look blue from certain angles. All down to your preference though, if it HAS to be blue, stay HID and get H7 bulbs (but remember to get H7R bulbs designed for the reflector lamps ;))
