Guys,

Anyone experienced a squeaking sound coming from the boot area, possibly the upper part. Noticeable when going over bumps not present all the time.

I've looked at the usual potential causes, back seat lock etc, and any rodent investation, but cant find the source.

Any suggestions?:headhurt:

Yeah the wheel and jack seem pretty secure. Its as though the sound is coming from the boot hinges or somewhere near there.

Tony, that's where my sound seems to be coming from.

I even took the spare wheel, jack etc out and it's still there.

Almost sounded like it's behind the light clusters but again nothing seemed to be loose

Yeah, the cars in at Seat dealership for some warranty work this Friday so may have to pick their brains. Would rather sort myself though.

the squeak could be the rear suspension.. have a search there alot of people had it..think u hav to grease it up or something..

i had a tinny rattle coming from behind the plastic trim in the boot.. took it orf with some great difficulty and it was the threaded bar that goes from the handle to the lock mechinism i tighted it up jus enough so it stoped the lock from rattling and glued it in place so it didnt come loose again

Having same problem.
Checked all boot and back seat locks etc but seem to have located it at the around the middle of the bottom of the rear seats where the larger section latches in when pushed back.
Noise is only when going over things and around corners.
Havent had chance to look into getting rid of it but shouldnt be an issue.
Was ages trying to source it. Take the small section seat forward and tug at the other seat.

May be it, may not be it for you

Try taking the parcel shelf out and putting the seats down. Get in the back while a mate drives you round and see if you can pin point it.

Thanks for the replys, Ive discounted the jack stowage and and the seats. I'll just keep on searching, ('for that something that I'll never find,....... in another place another ti') etc.

The annoying squeak will be coming from the parcel shelf pivot points. Put some silicone grease on the rubber and it should disappear, did on mine anyway:D:D

Well i have got this problem too. I think mine is from the suspension but it could be boot or even the seats? Looked all over but cant find anything obvious? Be nice to know if someone can find out what it is? Keep it posted!

I have the exact same rattle coming from the boot lid! I have tried removing spare wheel & jack etc, removing parcel shelf and folding rear seats flat but I still get the rattle!

Had a mate in the boot last week, and he reckons it's somewhere around the actual handle mechanism.

Muttly, sounds like I might have what you had - how do I go about removing the plastic boot trim?

BTW.... Hi to all - newbie Cupra owner here! New to site - SC.net sticker on its way to me soon! :p

My cupra has a squeek and it sounds like its from between the rear seats and the parcel shelf..................drives me nuts and my cousin has a civic type r, whenever he gets in it he goes mental at me for not having sorted it. But its kinda ok.................My cupra turbo eats his civic so i wind him up bout that.

Well, had the car in at Seat today for this and one or two other bits. They adjusted the tailgate and hey presto, no more squeak.

Yeah, I'd love to know too! Currently trying to figure out how to remove the internal trim without damaging the damn thing!

A common sound in leons.

Just get some insulation tape and wrap it round the pins where the seat hook/catch onto.

Another place that generates rattles is the lower plastic lining from the boot.

Where the plastic hooks are for the tri-angle ( near the spare wheel).

I removed all that lining , padded it with some cloth and slotted the OEM plastico lining back.

No more birds in the boot...

Took the car 5 times to SEAT. Eventually i gave up and isolated it myself.
