Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the warning noise that happens when the driver's door is opened with the car engine switched on? I find this very annoying, and I think the display indicator is enough to warn me of this. I have a dsg by the way - not sure if this happens in the manual.
No doubt I'll be asked why I would open the door with the engine on, but here are a couple of common scenarios:
- When I reverse park, I sometimes find it helpful to open the door slightly to look out/guide me. BEEP BEEP BEEP!
- When I pull up on the drive to put the car in the garage, I put the dsg stick into neutral and the handbrake up, then get out to open the garage door. BEEP BEEP BEEP! (I know the beep doesn't happen if the gearstick is put in park, but doing this causes the stop/start to kick in and forces me to turn the ignnition key to start the engine again, because the seatbelt has been undone - even more annoying).
