Hi All

As my rear shocks are leaking I decided to have a go with coliovers as a replacement but there is so many to choose from, and I'm not sure if my way of thinking is correct as I wan't to go for V-maxx coilovers with damping adjustment to have possibility of setting them up to my liking, but (as always there is a one) not too sure if I need damping adjustment ?

I never had any coilovers installed in my car and I'm not sure if height adjustment will be enough for me... is the factory set hardnes very harsh on coilovers like V-maxx, FK's, AP's ? as all of them are in my price range but only V-maxx offer damping adjustment.

Cheap coilovers like FK Street or JOMs are out of question as I will be keeping my car for some time so I want to get suspension which will last some time.

Any thoughts suggestions ?

KW v1
damian at dpm performance has a good deal on these atm, ideal for some fast road without the harsh ride

I would rather go for weitecs if my budget will allowed me ...

Max i want to spend is £450 ..

This ones are out of my price range ... and I'm sure Kw V3 are not needed at all for road use way OTT .

Well I don't do anything in half's m8....but don't tell the mrs she thinks I payed £400

I've got AP and I'm really impressed. The ride is as comfortable as stock (FL FR) so if yours is a pre fl then it should be a slight improvement in comfort. Handling is a lot better. No where near as much body roll either!

Depends how much you love you car and how much free penny's you have.....mine was built to take track days and play with the big boys.....

End of the day you buy what you can afford regardless how much your car is worth...

My m8 just restored a 1990 rs turbo payed £1700 he bare shelled it and new engine new turbo new paint work interior etc now he's payed out £8200 to complete this car how he wants it ?? Its worth what £4000 tops but its his pride and joy most people think he's mad which he probably
His but he's got the cash he wanted the best things so what's the problem... Regardless how much me and big eck have spent you pay for what you get...
I know a lad who spent £3500 on suspension on his impreza yet around the twistys in wales complete league of his own...

Is not about how much I love my car but more about common sense ... as I said this car will be used for town driving so can't really see a point of forking £1.4k on something which really would not be used as it should ... I'm not a driver who race from lights to lights or take rondabouts with speeds 50mph+...

I'm bit tight person and I do not like spend much more than I have too, I think I'm gonna go for V-maxx as they offer best adjustment possibility height + damping and 2 years warranty.

Restoring classic car is completly something different.

I get where your coming from mate and agree with you I suppose.

If your not goin to track it then £1k+ coilovers are a bit overkill lol.

AP/Weitec have a very good rep and are a good price.

i was gonna do a few track days but mainly fast road so ill probably go with the v1's or the eibach pro streets
i was gonna go b14's but i think there more of a track inspired coilover
