Hi Bill,

As I am sure you all know the Standard 1998 Ibiza cupra 16V comes with a front anti roll bar (albeit a small one!) i think we have discussed before that the rear ARB makes more of a dramatic impact on handling??

To keep costs down i would like to stay with the standard front ARB and buy a rear.

Is this a good option? - is the standard front arb up to the job or should buy a Front and rear kit?

Can i have a price for a full kit and a rear separetly with part numbers & which brand do you recommend, whitelines, H&R, Eibach neupseed etc?
And what thickness'?

My car is on 60/40 Avo Road sport suspension with strut braces and is handeling pretty well right now IMO, i can get over steer if i lift off and understeer if i give it some - so the ARB should just tighten things up right?

Any thoughts or experiences welcomed, i have done a search but its all a bit disjointed, i feel i have asked most questions?!? LOL thanks guys.

I replied to one of your other posts which you obviously haven't see yet. If you just want a rear then Neuspeed is probably your answer. I'm on the G60/20VT 23mm tapered front and Neuspeed 25mm rear with budget coilovers. Coilovers recently went on but have been running the arbs for a couple years now with rear set to medium. I think think this is a good value road package.

Neuspeed 25mm rears then i guess? I think you need to make a bracket to to fit an ARB to the rear, but i dont know where to mount them, or does it come in the kit? I work with a metal fabrication company closely and could easily make some brackets up if anyone knows any sizes or dimensions???

I've got a Neuspeed 25mm on the back of mine (and Neuspeed on the front as well). Just had a new set of brackets made up by Andy Cole off the forum. I can email you the drawing I did for him to make the brackets from if you pm me your email address. Previous ones snapped as the metal was too thin - hence an upgrade to chunkier section.

sounds like your basic setup is flawed then.... fitting an ARB to the rear will cause more oversteer

I have 10mm rear spacers, 15mm front spacers, dropped 60/40mm on Avo road sports, 34/30 PSI F/R, a front upper strutbrace, no rear. Hmm, nothing there that should provoke over steer really?!?

I do not want to increase the over steer? GRRRRRRRRR Shall i increase rear tyre pressure, increase/decrease dampening Front- back?

Well I can telll you why its oversteering. As standard, the front track is about 37mm wider then the back. And becasue you added spacers on the front as well as the back. Your front end is not 47mm wider then the back. Combined with a light stripped rear makes a very tail happy, lift off oversteery car.

Ahh, that makes sense, i had to space the front to accomadate the brakes, so should i get some bigger spacers for the rear to regain control??? i guess so. If the Front is 35mm wider than the back as standard, and i put 15mm spacers on, its 65mm wider than the rear!!!

**** i had not thought of this, what size spacer shall i get for the back? 30mm / 40mm rear seems a bit excessive? Will my rear wheel bearings survive 30mm spacers? Do i want to match the front width or exceed it?

Damn you all with your lift off oversteer fun . I'm just waiting for some 20mm spacers to arrive which will make it even more understeery. But then when I strip out the back it should level out.

You have a rear ARB as such - its a metal bar that runs along inside the beam

Seriously wouldent have it like that - did a trackday at brands hatch and it lift off oversteered all over place - Fun at the time, but not practical for everyday driving.

Thanks to Czech's comments last night i whipped all four wheels off - moved my 15mm spacers to the back and squeezed my 10mm spacers (which i assumed wouldnt fit over the brakes) onto the front -

Standard its 35mm wider at the front, now with 15mm on the back and 10mm on the front its only 25mm wider at the front, so hopefully this will be a little better... we shall see. thanks for your comments, i stillmreally want some ARBs though! i just dont want to make it anyworse...
