I have a friend who's kiiled the engine in his cupra, he's found another engine but needs a variable cam tensioner with electronic variable control (think thats what he said it was) I tried Vagparts and GSF but they didn't list the part, any help would be great.

dealership? individual parts are not as scarey expensive as a whole built headf etc.

Thanks, any idea on prices, He said he was told it could be about £500 didn't know if ithere was anywhere cheaper than dealership.

who told him £500? did they work for a dealership? theres a couple dealerships on here that can get parts cheaper than usual, give them a should, img has a parts guy on here though you'll have to be quick as hes leaving soon.

Sounded very high to me but thats what he was told by the guy fitting the engine, looked on vagparts and they showed cam tensioners for about £30-40 pounds just wasn't sure what valve thing was (so wasn't sure if it was the correct part) I'll get him to ring the dealers tomorrow.
