I did last night on the way home from work, boy he was quick every time we hit the open speed limit I would floor it and he did to. Could'nt shake him, but then he could'nt get passed me either not even on the twisty's. I dont think his car was standard, exhaust sounded mighty and it only looked inches of the floor.

Think I raced one at Santa Pod once...

Hold on..

These two videos are me up against him... it wasn't standard, was very quick! I did get a quicker time than him just.....I was around the 197bhp figure at the time...

EDIT: Whoops... this is a Starlet not a Pulsar.. My BAD!

Those Pulsars are very quick tho, light too, modified ones usually come with a 4 or 5 inch big bore lol

Mike

Yeh i know, i got pulsar and leon cupra,
pulsar are tooo quick for any leons, Pulsar running at 320bhp, soon hitting 400hp when i have some more cash

They are rapid cars but as the years go on many are now **** buckets, due to their age :)

i dont rate them all that much

they are decent engines and very tunable but its just because its jap and theres alot more tuning parts available cheaper

but it would be cool to own a white sunny gtir

the starlet nailed the start! If you still won that then yours is quite a bit quicker, you must have gained alot mid range

I used to have a 1988 Nissan Silvia s12 with 200 bhp great rear wheel drive car, suprised a few local hot hatch's when I raced them.

yeh they come from the same family range, bad thing it rear drive. you wont see any taking a sharp corner in those

Pulsar's are quick... But like all 4x4 cars - They do lose a fair amount in Transmission loss. So even though you mgiht get one that may have 280BHP - They'll actually only have around 200BHP@the wheels...

...and that's probably roughly the same power as a standard LCR...

So on a rolling start - an LCR should have a fair chance of beating a Pulsar / GTiR... as they are around 220BHP (Standard)

I once beat a Pulsar with my old Escort RS Turbo... which was around 190BHP at the time..... it was a side by side run and after 80 MPH I started to go past him.....

(but don't forget) You all ways have the weight factor as well :(

Yeah...my reaction time was pants on that run, about .6 I think....caught up tho! ;)

That was minus the DP too... so I've gained quite a bit since then... I managed a 14.5 that day... so bring on next season!

Thanks mate :D

[/hijack] lol

I like them but I wouldn't buy one secondhand as my mate has owned two and treats his cars like sh1t.
Very rapid cars though - my LCR wouldn't have had a chance against either of his.

Yeh at the end of the days, it a 2litre, lighter, at 320bhp, 4x4. With jap cars you find problems easier than german cars as german have 2many electronics and all have to be checked that lead to minor fault.

I raced a cupra r black in birmingham race traks. 1st gear he ket up, 2nd and third i left him. Then mines was running at around 08bar boost - that was 280bhp

After reading what you all have to say about the Nissan Pulsar gtir I think I did good last night thanks. Now looking forward to the return match I'am sure he will want revenge for not getting past me.

Big Lad that looks remarkably like my old one just with different wheels. I had black bk racing 238 alloys on mine though. The reg was k85 suy. It's not yours is it? I'm in Birmingham and sold it to a guy in sutton coldfield. It was running 313bhp when with me. I wouldn't race one off the blocks it would murder you! I remember racing a poser in a ferrari testarossa with his trophy girlfriend! I was all over him. Had we stopped I'm sure she would have got in my car instead ;)

I'll post a pic up of mine when I'm home.
