Anyone Else got a car pc

Just as the title really.
has anyone else got a car pc on here ?
just wondering what your running

nlited xp sp2, roadrunner, map point, vagcom - a must for any vag owner really.

soon to be stripped out as due to me running a 3.5" it doesnt like alot of the roads so swapping out for a 2.5 as soon as ive some pennies. will also be installing HORM and EBWF to speed the system up a little more.

looks tidy but i have never understood why people would rather do their emails,internet etc in their car than on a lovely sofa in the comfort of your house

doesnt do email or internet at the minute, blackberrys for that

what it does do is - music - mp3s, cds - normal and mp3, dvds, videos (avi,mpg,mp4 etc), gps, vagcom.
also allows me to run back up camera, pictures, weather, internet.

basically i wanted a decent system that would do music, videos and gps but without spending silly money. i made this for around 300 by picking up some bargins on ebay

ahh fair play then.to buy all new i wouldnt say its ever worth buying

if you buy them ready built then they arnt worth the money. i did look at this in the beginning but they were wanting circ £500 for a decent system before screen which most want around £150-200 on top.

the only thing i bought 2nd hand was the screen which i got for £80 inc delivery - guy had actually bought it was a spare for working on in the house so had hardly been used. power supply and motherboard were quite dear at around £50 but that was for a 1.6 twincore in miniiTX format

Used to have one in my old fiesta. had all the bells and whistle, spent 300 on a screen alone so it was hidden when not in use. I loved the wee thing but was way more hassle than it was worth. Windows had that problem of getting slower and slower. HD no mater what size format would need replace once a year if not more due to our crap roads. boot up times are a pain in the ass. Drains the hell out the battery when engine is off.

You would actually be cheaper buying a good HU, ipod and sat nav.
