I know a lot of people love to bash biodiesel. 'It rots away at your engine', 'it clogs this and that', 'you need to change your oil more often' etc. Like every experience, there are the good and the bad, so I'm wondering does or has anyone ran biodiesel in their TDI?

I previously owned a MK4 Golf which I bought from my dad. He ran 80,000 miles on it on biodiesel (B100, no mix) and there were no problems that stemmed from its use. I now run my Leon on it and there have also been no problems.

Anyone out there used it before, whether it be good or bad? I'd like to know out of curiosity. :)

Yeah my Granda tried to run his PD Mk5 off it. Ran smooth for around 100 miles then it basically shat itself. Unfortunate though considering the price of diesel nowadays.

Been running mine on 50 % Bio for 2 months now no problems, had a Galaxy pd with same engine basically ran that for 18 months 100% Bio, as long as its made properly, washed and dryed, it should be fine. Bioman1966

The problem I've seen with it is clogging up the piston rings and things like that, I certainly wouldn't use it myself. But if you insist I'd highly recommend a decent cleaner through the engine every so often at least to help get rid of sludge etc.
