yep pile of poo about 3p's worth of resistors make a note never to even think about them again

yep agreed about the chip thing. you get what you pay for and when its your thousands of pounds worth of car your putting it on its worth paying for a proper map. The results will be so much better.

You wouldn't HAVE to declare it, only way they'd find it is if hey scanned your ECU

Yeah, this has been discussed before, i think the ins. companies asses each case individually - like most things they are more likely to check certain cars, driver profiles etc etc i'm sure you get the picture.
