N249 is a solenoid that controls the diverter valve, the Mk1 boys remove them as they're troublesome but I haven't heard of a Mk2 giving problems... It could be the DV itself giving problems and throwing up a code for the N249, check the diaphragm on the DV hasn't split, common on earlier Mk2s, solved by fitting a Forge or OEM piston type replacement
Thank you a lot Cupraken. What happened is that I noticed that my boost dropped of from normal 18 psi to 15 psi, so at the stealers, they scanned the car and this shows: "Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction" (does anybody knows the difference between mechanical and electrical malfunction?). So they changed the valve for another one, and now, what worries me is that my car used to make a "pssst-t-t-t-t" sound between gears (I have a K&N Typhoon intake that started this sound) and now this sound is gone. I don't know if this is normal, or if someone has been through the same thing. Thank you a lot in advance.
