Hey guys, I thought i'd ask here as my audio forum don't like replying often...

Wondered if anyone knew much about sub woofers + amplifers, just started learning so I'm not 100% positive that i've got it right...

Sub : Vibe Blackdeath 12 - 12" SPL Sub 4500 Watt - 1500 RMS (£300 x1) Dual 2 Ohm
Amp : HiFonics BRX2400.1D Class D Amp - 1600 RMS @ 2 Ohm (£170 x1)
Wires : 2 AWG Wiring Kit, Oxy free, 250A Fuse
Capacitor : ??? (Do I need one?)

That sound alright to anyone? Have I miscalculated / bad choices? It's within my budget :)

You can't run a dual voice coil sub thats 2ohm a coil as a 2ohm impedance. It can only be run as a 1ohm impedance (by wiring in parallel) or as a 4ohm impedance (wiring in series)

What can that amp output at a 1ohm impedance or at a 4ohm impedance?

Capacitor is not required imho, I would suggest a second battery before auch things as caps, however you will be fine with the standard system fpr your setup.

Wiring kit should do the job, just make sure the inline fuse is fitted as close to the battery as possible.

Hope this clears a few things up :D anymore help you require ask away

Well now I'm really confused...

4 ohms: 850 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohm: 2400 watts x 1 chan.

Is that the wrong sub then? Recommend anything else?

So do I need an amp which powers 1 ohm at 3000w or 1500w rms?

Also which would you recommend parallel or series

You need an amp that will run at either 1ohm or 4ohm at 1500w rms to get the most out of your sub. Tbh the difference between series and parallel is unlikely to be an issue in your situation so just go with what amp you can find with the above specifications

That amp is only 800w rms at 1ohm, still pretty hefty but not maximising the potential of the sub.

Between the following, if you get a chance could you have a flick through and choose the best one?

1500rms @ 4 ohm http://caraudiosecurity.com/evo4000-1-mono-4000w-digital-amplifier (1500rms at 4 ohm, must be a cheapo one?)
1500rms @ 1 ohm http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/amp...ckair-bass-2-1500w-rms-mono-amplifier-ex-demo (seems to have a high lowest freq @ 40hz)
1500rms @ 1 ohm http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43570_Lanzar-MNX3000D.html (This one is tiny and the cheapest but seems to have the best specs out of all of these?)
1200rms @ 1 ohm http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_63975_Pioneer-GM-D9601.html (Very highly rated, only problem is 1200rms)
1200rms @ 1 ohm http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_94823_Hifonics-BRX1516.1D.html (Same as above)
