Infinity, JBL, Pioneer, 500W RMS, 1000W Peak, it doesnt matter - what really matters is how a particular Sub sounds in YOUR car.

Alot of Audio specialists will bring a few Sub's out, and wire them up into the boot of your car, so that you can hear EXACTLY how it is going to sound.

Also different Sub's for different purposes - Punchy Sub's for pop/dance and fast music, requiring a short sound. While a deeper, longer bassed Sub for R&B / Rap etc.

A single Sub can have different harmonics when fitted into one car, then into the next. So it's not just about how goos it sounds on paper.

Only real way to decide which Sub is best for your purpose, is to get around to a few shops and get a few demo's in, before making a choice. ;)

for under £300,
alpine type r sub
alpine MRP M650 amp

for 3-4,
diamond d310 sub
dls ca12 amp

or for just over 300, mix
diamon sub
alpine m650 amp, i thinki it was

any opinions?

Think I would go for the alpine package mate. Thinking of upgrading my sub to teh alpine one listed in the near future!

Ive got an Alpine MRP 230 something or other, and a 12"
Type D 300w sub, and the sound quality is amazing for the money.
Full setup was about 200 quid and i cant fault it at all.

My mate came round my yesterday having just got a Alpine Type R 10 inch sub like mentioned above. Its running on the AMP as mentioned in my sig and the quality of sound that it produces is very very good. Very punchy and a hard punch at that. Much better than my old 10 inch pioneer, wonder what it will be like once its properly run in. Think im deffo gonna have to get the 12 inch version of that sub.
