as per title really

Still planning on putting the R splitter onto my MY03 bumper, but I am also planning on sorting the suspension in the near future. If I do the suspension, i would be dropping the car by 30mm or so (koni/fk suspension kit quotes 25-40mm drop)

If I drop it by this much i dont want to be scraping the floor in multi-stories etc as the R splitter will be screwed into the bumper, and much more likely to damage the bumper permanently (expensive replacement)

Alternatively, if you have a Cupra R and have lowered it, can you make multi-storey carparks etc ok?

Even with the standard LCR suspension multi storey car parks are a pain in the :censored:
If the ramp down is too steep you ground the splitter or worse. Speed humps are also risky especially if you are going downhill when approaching them.

I've pulled the splitter away from it's mounts several times and it now looks as if something's been chewing on it!! :(

My car is lowered 15-20mm ish and I find it no worse than standard, front end doesn;t nose dive like it did on OE dampers under braking which is the difference IMO.

I do get the occasional scrape but the bumper have survived 10k miles lowered and Multistorey car parks were OK IIRC

hmm, i caught the floor in my std LC setup a while back, in a multi-storey, but i think i was coming down the slope a bit fast.... (not intentionally)

Just didnt know if the LC bumper + R splitter was lower than an R bumper overall....

Hi Pabs, I have a LCR splitter and the cars lowered 45mm, i does cause some probs, but if your carefull and try to take slopes at an angle if possible you shouuld be ok. I attached mine with small self tappers (8 in total) and the splitter has come away from the bumper twice due to tw@ting it, but there has been no damage to the bumper itself as its made from fairly soft plastic and tends to pull the screws out rather than splitting/cracking it. Thats why i used small onesand not many of them.

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Danny

Edit: the splitter sits about 4" off the deck.

yeh i probably will too. I just dont want to put myself in an embarassing situation where i get stuck in a multi-storey :(

We will just have to see what the new year brings.

Beware. On my LCR I ground it every night coming out from work in a multi storey (even when trying at an angle). You have to go about 1-2mph and it stills grounds. :(

FK kit dropped my 03 cupra by 25mm at the front. It said on the website 35-40mm drop but I read somewhere that cupras are 11mm lower than std Leons, which tallies with my measurements.

I wouldn't want to put the LCR splitter on mine with self tappers. I reckon you will scrape/catch it if you go to multistoreys.

ive got an lcr which is lowered about 30mm. Doesnt seem to catch any worse than standard as the car now sits level rather than nose down.

Yeah pabs i do use multi-story car parks and have had a few scrapes but nothing major, like i said before you can get away with it if to attached the 'slope' the right way, ie at and angle etc.

I'll post a few picks up if you like?

yeh please. Pics would be good.
I dont see how i can attack multi-storey slopes at angles - there is very little room to angle the car anyway...

Sorry for the delay chaps, but heres the pics.

Pabs: i find in the multi' story carparks in aberdeen you normally have to go into the inclines at and angle anyways. I just ment if you have a choice of straight on or at an angle, then the angle will help, if you know what i mean!!!

Sometimes i wish my car was extreme blue ;)

Gonna be doing my suspension and R splitter by the looks of it - that splitter looks like it was meant to be on the MY03 bumper as well :)
Cheers for the pics matey.
