Ive got 235/40/18s if thats any consolation? and its lowered on coilovers to the point where its just practical, no issues of scrubbing or anything.

Thanks for the info guys! And talking about the tires, what do you think of the Dunlops SP Sport Max TT? This are the one I'm about to put on the car.

Stock LCR alloy tyre fitment is 225/40/R18. Why would you want to run a wider tyre than the wheel is designed for? Aside from any (possible) safety implications you're creating more rolling drag, thus reducing performance. You may also find your insurance is void as a lot of insurers will refuse to cover you if you're running tyres of a different fitment than the wheels are designed for.
+1 on the Vredestein Ultrac Sessants though, I'm on my second set and they're fantastic. They come in standard LCR fitment though, Camskill have them.

For several reasons. Safety, to protect my wheels from holes and also because I'm getting the dunlops in this size for free haha.
if you have oem lcr wheels then they are 7½ wide, and you want 245 wide tyres on this?
i would recommend 8½-9 wide wheels if you want 245 wide tyres.
have you ever thought about that you can actually get some tires with rim protection side walls.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I have LM reps 8.5 wide.. the 225/40 have a little stretch and I hate it.
on a similar line I have just got a set of 4 Bridgestone Potenzas @ 215/45/18s was going to fit them on my LCR but have noticed that they should be 225s, Can any body see any issues with this?
OK then fit whatever tyres the wheels are designed for, anything else is potentially dangerous.

Yes. Assuming you have standard LCR wheels, the 215s are too narrow, so too small a contact patch and the stretch will place nasty stress on the sidewalls. Also 45 is too high a profile so your sidewalls will be softer and this will exaggerate stresses placed on them by incorrect width. This will also make your speedo under-read by a bit.
I just don't understand why anyone would fit incorrect sized tyres to their car, it's not safe, it can upset handling, reduce grip, reduce performance and invalidate your insurance.
