Anyone with Factory rear PDC.

Hi,

I am after a picture of the rear bumper of anyone who has factory fitted PDC, not aftermarket Cobra sensors that dealers fit.

I am going to install the real deal PDC that will show up on VagCom etc and use all OEM kit.

So a picture showing locations would be great!

the bumper already has the locations on the rear, small circles.

which model is your car? as they do on the standard bumpers.

It's a 56 plate FR TDI. I heard rumors of this when I did it to my R32, alas when I took the bumper off....nothing!!

hmmm, not sure about the FR bumper, you'll need to check. Im not sure the FR ever came with factory fit sensors?

Mine has them, but it's a facelift model.

Okay, I will whip the bumper off. Do you reckon it may neer have been an option then?

i remember something about they didnt do the reserving sensors for the FR at one point straight from the factory. shouldnt make a difference to you though. Have you got all the bits? ive recently swapped them from one bumper to another, including making the holes.

I will need to get 4 new brackets to mount to the rear of the bumper, apart from that I have the looms, pdc controller, and speaker

I might well be taking my rear bumper off either tomorrow or the day after so if I do it before you I'll let you know if there are markings and take pics if I remember. (oh and mine's a 57 plate FR)

Rear sensors were never an option on pre-facelift models, we found that the best locations for the sensors were to have two non-colour coded in the black "mock diffuser" part of the bumper and two colour coded ones on the same level on the painted part of the bumper. I've seen some fitted on the small horizontal part of the bumper near the top but they looked quite obtrusive.

Do you mean they were never an option on the FR or any MK2 model, I presume you must mean just the FR as all the parts are listed on ETKA for the MK2.

When i ordered my FR (58 reg) they were not a factory option - only a dealer option - I'm not sure PDC was available from the factory until the current model.

Just checked on ETKA, PDC was a factory option on every model except the FR and Cupra. God knows why!?!?
