Hi

Anyone got vagcom in Stoke? I have a cupra t with the engine management light on. Now i would normally go to the seat garage, but heres the story, it came on a few months back when i had a hyperboost dv valve fitted, so i took it to the garage in stoke. They said it was probably the dv valve, but to book it in and pay them some money. Changed the dv valve back to the original, light was still on, then a week or so later it went off. Now its back on again! But i still have original dv valve on.

I did notice that the last time it came on though it was when id sat in the car with the engine running for a while?? Any clues either??

Also another question, i am going to upgrade the bumpers to Cupra R spec. Will they need painting before they go on or should i just fit them and then take it to be painted?? would also need the black side strips colour coding too.

Sorry for war and peace!

Hey mate, i bought a cable off ebay but i cant for the life of me get it to work. If you have got an old lap top, you are more than welcome to try it, you can download the free software from Ross Tech.

Another option, is, if you pop along to Votex in Congleton, and go for the free trial of Revo, Keith and Mike can hopefully connect you up to Vag Com . But be warned after having the trial, you may well be tempted to buy the full version.

You could also try and disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes to see if that resets the fault, just make sure you have your radio code to hand.

Keep an eye out for our local meets, next one is 29th Jan at Darlaston Inn, Stone.

Tell em i recommended you and they will sort you out.

Revo are able to offer a FREE 5 Hour drive time example of the software , however the software will only run about 85% of the actual increased power. Its as simple as plugging their laptop into your diagnostic port and uploading the software. No Welding, no tampering with your ECU. Loads of info about Revo on here mate, have a look at their website. But again, be careful cause you wont want to go back to standard after trying it. And the cost for the full version is about £500 plus VAT. But worth every penny.

just rung them, sound like a good place. Need to sort my light out first before i can have the revo trial, so will get it down to them next week i hope at some point. Would go this avo but got to get new headlight bulb and a new horn fitted. Funny how everything goes at once!
Also just bought some omp pads and black diamond drilled and grooved discs for the front, will have a crack at it i think.;) Rear to follow shortly. Would like some new alloys so thought theyd look a bit bling!:bleh:

It may well be your MAF sensor that is failing.
