Hi all,

With my flywheel making all sorts of grinding noise and my clutch pedal going stiff, I am thinking of doing the job myself on the driveway with some ramps as I have a second car and time is not an issue. The only guide I have come across is this one (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139389). Is this the best guide to follow, is the proceedure the same for the Cupra, any extra advise or tips?

Also the flywheel does not get replaced in this guide and I will be changing mine. Once the flywheel is visible is it a straightforward case of removing and refitting new one or do I need special tools for alignment, removal etc?

Anything to add at all to the procedure, torque values, tooling required, consumables needed etc would be a massive help.

ECP have a flash sale. Are these all the parts I need for the job and will the sachs slave release bearing work with the LUK clutch kit as they dont list an LUK part and I dont think you get it in with the LUK clutch kit at the top of the list? I think this is a really good price for the parts whilst sale is on...??

This kit is OEM equivalent right so should be pretty decent?

That looks like all you need

I've got the same LUK DMF/bolts fitted with Helix clutch and no issues

Cant bring the guide up but the clutch is pretty straight forward. You will need a clutch alignment tool with a spacer. Mark the subframe bolts with a pen. Subframe has to come off, passenger side lower arm and driveshaft and the driveshaft flange on drivers side... but most important undo the driveshaft bolt on the passenger wheel first. Its torqued to 100+ Nm... I had to take the centre cap off and use a extra bar on a breaker bar

With regards to the best clutch kit, out of the below what would people recommend; will the Sachs components outlast LUK as I would rather spend a bit more for better parts?...

Clutch kit-

Option 1 (Seems very cheap to me even considering the CSC is not supplied-Genuine LUK??)

Option 2 (Price seems more realistic for genuine parts and Sachs is rated above LUK for OE?)
