APQ Timing Belt

How do you know when there is the correct tension on the belt when adjusting the tension pulley?

I know that you can buy a tool but is this really neccessary?

u can turn it 90 degrees with thumb and finger, more and its to slack, less its too tight... just a general rule of thumb when there is no tensioning tool available.

Do I align pointer 1 with grove 2 to for the correct tension?
