As the title states really......
poor bitza was feeling quite sluggish so I eventually got round to getting vag-com.... Maf was pulling about 90-100 g/s (revo'd) so decided the maf was cream crackered..
Got new/refurb from main dealer. Same fault code, still sluggish....
Haven't run vag-com on the maf yet (have issues with vag-com only working the once then connect anymore... have to reset ecu before it'll work again :headhurt: ) but can only assume at this point that the prob is still the maf....
Searching around a few peeps have had this problem is it really that common to buy a duff new maf????

Can't the sensor for the maf be bought seperatley (new) and fitted into your existing maf body??

Time for the maf to go back then and have them exchange it i guess... Will check on vag-com first if I can get the dam thing to work again........

grrrrrr
Its bad enough that they're a common failure item but it's worse when they can't even refurb them correctly and make them work.......
Cheap poor quality sensors I guess....

Duff ones are common no matter where you get them from...

Ive herd that MAFs are very sensative bit of equipment. Sure it wasnt banged it when it was being installed? Fell on the floor when you was driving home etc? I herd the slightest knock can break them. On my box it had a tested sticker on it and it was 23/03/2007 the day i ordered it

dont half make a BIG difference though when you replace them :)
