Thanks Steve, & how is is it that you managed to get working rear parking sensors when you've got front aero kit on? That's all I'm after. It was pointed out to me that i couldnt get them on the front aero kit bumper but as you say you can have them on the standard back bumper right? This is really what I'm trying to find out. A solution to have the same set up as yourself..

GainfulShrimp has got it spot on. Mine work because I only ordered the car with rear sensors.

Check the reply in your other thread.

From reading around, I gather that the control box / electronics are different for "just rear" or "both front and rear" parking sensors...

My guess would be that your rears aren't working because you have a "both front and rear" control box and it's expecting both sets of sensors to be connected. Because they replaced the normal bumper (inc sensors I presume) with an aero one (with no sensors), the control box is not behaving - just my theory. Likewise, Steve's rear sensors presumably work because he has the "just rear" control box and has rear sensors properly connected to it.

The whole sorry mess is 100% the dealer's fault for allowing you to choose an impossible spec when you ordered. They either need to replace the parking sensor system for a rear-sensors-only setup *that works* or replace your front bumper with a normal one and working sensors at both ends, at your choice.
Either way, I think you're well within your rights to demand compensation for the cockup and inconvenience. At the very least, I would expect them to put it right at their cost and offer some freebies (accessories, servicing, whatever)...

Good luck! My fingers and toes are crossed that my factory ordered Ecomotive will arrive in a few weeks with all the bits I ordered in full working order.

Thanks for this, I finally understand what's happened & of course it is indeed totally their fault. They cant expect the customer to know the ins & outs of such things but they're trying it on by making out you can't have rear parking sensors when you have just an aero front bumper which was what was implied so that I might just accept it as it is. Not when I've asked for & paid for rear sensors & they've agreed to supply them on the car as part of the deal.

I'm sure they'll retro fit them or something as suggested by Watto. Either that or obtain the proper control box & wiring to make them work. Whatever they do has to leave me with working rear parking sensors or they can refund me & source me a new car as it's their error.

Thanks also to HotHatchSteve. I've not lost faith in Arnold Clark yet & I'm sure they'll sort me out eventually. I'm just looking forward to having the brand new car that I speced finally up and running the way it should have been on day one without this hassle & I think after the expense & long wait I deserve at least that.

cheers guys

I had this problem when I got my new FR . Long beep when I selected reverse then nothing. It turned out to be a bad sensor I had that changed then it was fine. Shame they didn't check it for fault codes when they pdi'd it. I only have rear sensors on mine.
