A poser for you lot,

Just wondering how much of a no no it would it be to stick a big audio setup into a lightweight supercar/road legal track car:confused:

Lets say for instance a couple of amps, front comps & a 12" sub.....oh and lets say for arguements sake the car in question is a Noble M12:blink:

two questions,
Are you buying the car to use as a track car, or just because u can pose in it?

secondly...

Will Subs actually FIT in the back?

They won't fit in the back due to the engine being there!!!

If you wanted bass, then go for Vibe 6x9's [rectangle ones] connected to a decent amp..

If i had an M12 id be more than happy listening to the gorgeous engine note.

Make the install from carbon fibre and use lightweight kit and it can sound good and not weigh too much :D

Not too bad a plan my good sir... imagine trying to fit a sound system to an arial atom... that would be funny!!!
use marine speakers  sorry anorak is now back on its peg

look back not too many years and Alpine themselves used a Diabli iirc as a demo car

had amp rack under the bonnet and some well hidden subs in the rear pockets

personally i'd be happy with a F40 and an Ipod

I recently had the joy of having an RS4 for the day. Not once did I have the Radio on. Wether its because I Drive a diesel, and im not used to a "nice" engine note, i couldnt stop listening to it. I was often found around the redline.

On a motorway cruise maybe music would be usefull, but around town and on tracks etc, I'd be happy with no tunes. more than happy!
A super car for me doesnt need speakers, i'd spend the money I saved on ICE for a lovely exhaust ;)

Ignoring the feasible logistics of actually undertaking such a task, im more concerned at this stage with the most likely result of unbalancing a car heavily reliant on its power to weight ratio. Just need convincing say from the track day fraternety that its not the road to go down and would be better to stick the car on the Barry Bethel slimfast option instead;)

edit- audio will fit chaps

If you want light weight panels look at aluminum honeycomb, This would make a very light structure for the subs etc but still be really strong. Then look at getting a speaker that uses dual opposed magnets instead of one huge one, as they weigh fook all

I remember a few year years back one of the guys in EVO had the dark blue F355 spyder and stuck a sub in the passenger footwell in a box / false floor and amps in the front etc etc.

Lots of people said it was sacralidge and he should be listening to the howl of the Fezza's engine and the Tubi exhaust he fitted.

The owner said he wanted the choice of music or engine sound etc and frankly it was his car and he could do what the fcuk he liked.....TBH i'm with him sometimes you want some banging tunes sometimes just the engine note.

I say fit the ICE

sorry mate but :redcard:

its a noble, its sacrilidge!

take onboard your comments about 90% of peeps ive asked so far say the same;)

Personally I have to say I'd do it :D

But I'd build an amprack/sub box that could be easily removed for track days ;)

already sorted out/got dimensions for a simple "drop in" set-up as you describe. Just got to do some maths regards weight of the damn thing. As you know ive got similar in the beeza all be it on a more grander scale, but having said that ive only had the install out the beeza once before despite that being a simple 5 minute in/out job.

im not saying dont have a decent setup, but i dont think you should fill it with fibreglass and subs/amps

LOL, pissed myself reading this, you know me too well, now wheres my sander:redface:
