Aura - Radio code - Websites

Hi all

This old chestnut again. My battery was disconnected when I recently had the alternator clutch pulley replaced. I don't have the radio code and the local Seat dealership wants £25 and to have the car for half hour (might as well be a whole day around work times). Bit disappointed they wouldn't do it for free considering they have done the servicing on it for most of its life! Anyway,....

My serial code is : * SEZ2Z6B1508139 * it's on a MK1 Leon and is the standard Aura headset with factory fitted multi-changer.

There's no code in the books, car paper-work, under the ash-tray or on the unit itself, etc. There are several websites online that claim to do it via downloaded software or if you provide them the serial code. If someone can provide a code that would be great! If not can anyone recommend a reliable website or cheaper way of doing it????

Anyone used one of these???

PS. I couldn't see anything on this in the FAQ's and thanks to old posts now know all about removing the radio and how to enter the code. Esp. now that it's in safe mode following my tampering!

Try phoning SEAT UK, or the dealer where the car was originally bought. They should be able to give you the code.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Seat Uk and they just passed on the local dealer details which I already know! Unfortunately the original dealer it was brought from is no longer in existance.

Anyone have any more suggestions? I know all about entering the code thanx to this forum, am just looking for a recommendation on how to get the code for a reasonable price.

Dear All,

Please pass this on to anyone who has problems with the SEAT radio code. In the front of the radio booklet just above where the radio card should be are a couple of paragraphs stating that if you lose the code, go to your local SEAT dealer and they will sort it free of charge. I emailed SEAT UK and queried why they are trying to charge people for something which should be free, and they have replied that I should take my car to the dealer and they will sort it FREE OF CHARGE...!!!

Hello Good evening, my radio aura passes safe to 2000 but I can not dial the code because the buttons do not work. what can I do?

If you dont have the buttons there is no way to enter the code. I'm pretty sure the dealers enter the code in the same way so the only option really would be a new/replacement head unit I'm afraid

Buttuns blocked

Hello, the buttons are there and work, but are apparently are being blocked.
Will there be any way to unlock them?

Hiya, theres no way to block them or unblock them. When you go from safe mode to 2000 you should be able to press buttons 1,2,3,4 to increase the corresponding digit then hit the prog button to activate.
If the buttons are not working then I can only assume that the unit is faulty I'm afraid
