Feel for you mate, when I read the first few posts I was thinking nah you must be mistaken.
This really shouldn't happen, and I can't believe this wasn't picked up at the end of the line before shipping (they check the physical car against the spec / order sheet).

On the bright side, according to Kjimi the wiring loom is already there. I had imagined your dealer having to pull out column shrouds and all sorts to correct the issue. Hope it's sorted soon.
I’ve had the same problem please let me know what’s happening as I’m meant to be collecting the car in the morning but I will only accept it if paddles get fitted

We picked ours up wednesday. I pointed out the problem and they got straight onto SEAT about it.
this is the email i got from the dealers.
We have raised a complaint with SEAT and they are aware of the situation as your car is not the only one.
They are in the process of coming up with a solution to rectify it.

They will have to as that is what is required for a DSG car. The car has been
Built incorrectly therefore they have no option but to correct it.
I would also be looking for a goodwill gesture from Seat UK for the inconvenience and the fact the car was built incorrectly.
That’s for you to decide I would think. Free Service? Cash in hand? Decide what you would like as compensation for the incorrect build of your car and push for it.
Personally I’d go for Service or Bits for the car but it depends what spec you have etc and what you want. Dash am fitted might be good.
Looks like GB bodies are getting the wrong build spec assigned at factory (due to there being more than one car affected). Remember this is a perfectly normal spec for none GB bodies as indicated by Kjimi.
Suspect why it's passed quality control at martorell - physical build matches spec sheet they were told to build.
Now then, how will SEAT fix this - in one of two ways I wonder... Update GB spec for paddles (future build week) and announce cut in date to dealers.
Or, declare no issue "was meant to be like that" and update UK brochure and spec sheet with a cost option and offer small gesture compo for those that raise it at collection.
It's these situations that test people's confidence in the brand.

I had to have a DSG after an OP so couldn't return this now regardless.
Is it just a case of them retrofitting the steering wheel if the looming is present?

I really do hope so, thats what im lead to believe by the dealer. Apparently they have a company in the UK that comes and fits them. Dont know how true this is.
Like yourself, I had to choose an auto as the missus wants to get back into driving, she hasnt been able to drive since an accident in 2008, so had to be a auto.
Ill be mighty peeved if they dont change it over.
Unfortunately I’m not sure they will be changing any of the steering wheels, I find out tomorow just what they are going to do so will keep posted

Surely we can return/reject the cars though if accepted as if they are claiming "its not fixable" then surely it's classed as manufacturing defect and thus rejectable?
With having an OP and now another in Feb that was the whole point of me swapping cars so I would push heavily on that depending on the outcome.
Be interesting to see what they say to you though mate
