Hello, I purchased a 2020 seat Leon FR 2 days ago, was wondering if it’s possible to enable high beam assist on the car using obdeleven? Think I’ve seen something that says you can code it in somehow but I’m not sure how it all works? Can anyone help me (sorry if I’m being dumb😂)

Don't know the answer to your question but with regards to OBD11 are you able to code (eg do you have a pro or ultimate license) or are you a one click app user.

If you are an app user then check out https://obdeleven.com/customizations/seat-cupra/leon/2020-2024/high-beam-assist-memory and when connected to your car check out the one click apps.
but reading the details it says
Requirements

High beam assistant
must be installed in the vehicle
I’ve ordered an OBD11 thing which is coming tomorrow, I’ve seen some stuff that says you can do it as long as you have lane assist or smth like that (and I have lane assist) I just don’t know how to do it haha

as I say I dont know the coding but the question is have you just purchased a dongle or did you buy the pro pack.

The difference being if you just purchased the dongle you can only use one click apps so knowing the coding will not help.

Err I just bought the dongle on Amazon but I can just buy a pro or ultimate license separately to allow me to code it seems?(unless I’m being dumb)

You are correct you can just upgrade to the pro account, from a financial perspective please dont buy the upgrade via the app go to the obd11 shop it is cheaper.

Also if you do decide to upgrade it may be cheaper to buy the whole package (as they have another sale on at the moment) and send back your dongle to Amazon.

I would raise the question here https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/obd-modifications.463977/ as that is where all the OBD11 exports (for the mk4) live

I would double check you can make the change first.

If it’s a Leon KL then it’s SWaP & parameterisation - not coding

If it’s a Leon 5F then it’s coding, assuming you have the camera installed

I've recently got a brand new Leon 1.5 FR and thought it would have high beam assist headlights but unfortunately not. Think they are only standard on the FR Sport.
The lights aren't as good as those on my 2021 FR either, lower wattage it would seem. Other model automatically adjusted the level according to weight etc whereas now, it has to be done manually. Quite a few downgrades unfortunately on this one

Sounds like you’ve gone for a poorly specced example unfortunately

I’m shocked you’ve managed to find an FR with manually adjustable headlights, the headlights themselves will be a lower tier than the self levelling units. Historically it was the halogens that were manually adjustable

My new Leon FR, against my previous Leon (22 plate) FR...no matrix headlights, no dipstick, single tone horn, no dynamic indicators, no 'welcome/leave' animation to the Coast to Coast rear light, no engine cover but hey, a bigger infotainment with illuminated heater controls 👍. Can't see that extra cost justified the loss of the standard FR features though.

I have been disappointed this time. Whenever I've bought the same new model again there have been upgrades rather than downgrades. Obviously some cost- cutting by Seat. Even the horn is changed from twin tone to single! The lights were a surprise. Interestingly a friend has a 25 model Audi A3 and that also now has manual adjustment for headlight level.

Definitely downgraded the spec, apart from the infotainment screen. I thought the instrument panel better on the previous car too! Assuming the FR Sport has all the extras.
