Aux Input

Hi all, forgive me if this is in wrong section as this is my first post. I have recently bought a white 2010 '60' reg Seat Ibiza mk 5. The problem I am having is that I cannot listen to music through my iphone through the aux, or any media through the aux cable.

I have a mate who has a 09 plate Ibiza, that you just press the media button twice on, and that just brings the aux input up on the radio, and works with whatever mp3/iPhone he is using? Whereas on mine, if you press the media button it just beeps, or takes you to the CD.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hi mate,

Dont know if this will help but i've got a '12' facelift MK5 Ibiza.

I have the standard car which only has a jack input for iPod/MP3 useage.

The 'aux' input only comes with the upgraded speaker option on new Ibiza's I believe.

I bought an iPod Lead with 'jack' end from e-Bay for about £9. Works fine with one press of the media button on the stereo system. You cannot use the steering mounted controles however as you have to use the iPod direct to skip songs etc.

Question is do you have aux and jack input or just the one?

Maybe a problem with the lead. Hope this helps!

do you have the bluetooth and usb input option fitted with the usb port under the radio or the stereo jack near the gearstick ?

The media option on the bluetooth/usb option is for a usb stick plugged in to it. no usb present - no option available.

Thanks, there is a little button that says aux on it, with a 3.5mm hole underneath?

But have you got a link to that cable you was talking about mate?

This should allow playthrough and charging at the same time when used with a 12v usb adaptor
