Anyone had any experiance with the Avon's?? Read a couple of reviews where they wer pitched above the likes of the Eagle F1's!

And at £66 a corner they sound quite attractive

Mate has them on his Subaru and swears by them - that said he has 4WD...

They are basically cheaper Yokohama's that grip in the wet.

I put ZZ3's on all. That was nearly a year ago and I'm impressed - good, consistant grip in the wet and dry. Much better than my old P-Zero neros.

I've done 10k miles and I reckon there's another 5k in the fronts. The rears have hardly worn. I've heard they are prone to punctures but I haven't had any problems.

I'm sure more expensive tyres perform better, but these are a great performance/budget compromise. Really good value IMO

With an average of 34mpg in a TDI your def not a Sunday driver ;) maybe the previous owner was and I'm about to find out how quick they wear having 60 more bhp than my other one as I've only done 4k so far :)

I put Eagle f1's up front to replace some pacific rimmers (thank you previous owner) and think they are great performers across the board (although this snow can be a challenge!!!) They were £140 each- £66 is amazing! Are they really better?!

from what ive read the mid range (£60-80) tyres are just as good grip wise but wear quicker than the premium £150 tyres. i wonder if there's any scientific test been done out there.

Depending how much quicker, could be worth a punt! That's a decent saving- and as I'm not track day-ing or racing they shouldn't get shredded too fast!

haha, well think im defo gna opt for them! cant b worse than my Turanza's they dont wear, or perform especially on the front. at £66 a corner seems like a bargain!!!

Why not get Toyo Proxes T1-R's from Blackcircles as every one rates them highly and they are £70 a corner delivered (which if you know a garage that will filt, align and balance for cheap is a steal)

I'm running Avon's on my PD160 at the moment. Had toyo's on there prior to that and there is very little in it. I think the Avon's wear a little better and grip is about the same.

Had Avons on mine (just changed back to my standard wheels) and even with my "spirited" driving the wear wasn't too bad

Must admit I didn't feel they gripped as well in the wet but very good in the dry

Look like the only deciding factor between the avon's and toyo's is the price then- either way they look pretty good all round!!

ive got this tyres had them on for nearly a year and they are good, i thought i would struggle with them alot more in this weather but they've been good, i used to run toyo t1r's on my corolla and i find the avon's better!
