Goodyear Eagle F1's

I am running Goodyear Eagle F1's, they don't last long, well the way I drive but but they are gripy. Been looking to maybe change them for something cheaper but don't know if I can deal with a tyre that is rubish in the wet, changing gear at 3,000rpm just as the turbo comes in is no fun. The red line is a good target. I have used F1's for years now so I don't really know what the other tyres on the market are like, kind of stuck to what I know. Any idea's?

The road noise is a problem. What are they like in the wet compared to the F1's as this is what attracted me to them in the 1st place? Will change all 4 tyres fronts done me 18 months about 18K and rears about 30K what sort of millage under medium use do you recon?

ZZ3s! too soft i found, wore down really quickly
just put t1r's on mine :) just right.
less road noise too

I've heard T1r's wear quickly too. No experience personally.

As said earlier, I'm expecting to get at least 15k out of the fronts - probably more to be honest. The rears have hardly worn after 10k. Just make sure your wheel alignment is ok and you'll get some good mileage. I've got a standard tdi 130 driven about half on the motorway, half 'enthusiastic' A road driving.

I've never used F1's, but I find the ZZ3's excellent in comparison to other tyres I've used (Conti SportContact2, Pirrelli P-Zero Nero). Wet grip is good IMO.

At the end of the day the F1's are very expensive and get great reviews, so i'd expect them to be better. It's whether you feel you're getting better value, and that's your choice. The ZZ3's perform very well for the money.

+1 for T1R's

less road noise (although this can't be eliminated due to low profile)...and very good all-round performance (especially in very wet conditions)

I've used Eagle F1s all round and then went to Toyo T1Rs... good dry grip but couldn't trust them in the wet.

I'm going back to the Eagles.... only problem is that they have been discontinued so they are becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of.... Blackcircles do them for about £100 fitted per tyre.

eagle f1's are good. but they cost an insane amount of money. ive got them on the back atm ill be replacing them for toyo's they are working just aswell as my f1's did when they was on the front. and the bloke round corner only asks 60 quid a tyre ( toyo main dealer, anyone in east yorkshire area, they are called MCC) :)
