Thats where your wrong. I know exactly as much about clutches as I think.
Unfortunately it seems that you think you know everything about clutches and southbend are the be all and end all.
Don't bother wasting your time on him. I mean right here we have someone who can and has done everything, aswell as knowledge on the best of everything, bar none, We'll be seeing a 1000bhp 20vt on stock internals soon

Naming brands of clutches is completely meaningless.
Lets have a little example - I currently run a Sachs clutch. Is it better or worse than a Southbend?
No, naming competing brands means you know what you're talking about.

Shows that I know what I'm talking about? What have I claimed to know? Naming brands of clutches means you are aware of search engines.
I'm not trying to catch you out. I'm merely proving that naming brands of clutches has no reference on wether that clutch is suitable for that application.
Nor am I trying to claim a clutch is cheap chinese crap and going to fall apart in ten minutes, when in fact I know nothing about it.
Nor am I trying to claim that the best clutch for every application available is made by Southbend and is cheaper than any other on the market.
You seem to think this is a 'what clutch is best' argument. When its not. I have no interest in what clutch is best. For the OP the Awesome clutch is best. It was the right price and it suits his needs. For you to say that a Southbend clutch would be better for him is completely ridiculous.

Does the awesome cultch come with a warranty? 3 year or 60k ? If this I's the case then what's really the problem? It may be new and may be trial and error but if it's got a good warranty I would be tempted myself. If however it does not have a good warranty I would not buy any Clutha without warranty be it a awesome Sasch or southbend for that matter.
Can't believe a thread about a LCR owner obviously chuffed with his purchase, turning into a massive 'handbags at dawn' argument.....

Most clutch warranties aren't worth the paper they're printed on, as if you have a problem they will say it's due to "abuse", whether it is or not, and a failed clutch could cause other damage like to the gearbox.
Therefore it's important to get the best you can to start off with, then there's less chance of it breaking.
I truly hope that the Awesome GTI clutches stand the test of time, and there's not a load of people with knackered clutches/gearboxes in a few months.
Id reccomend the OEM one in my cupra.
That said I dont do standing starts and look after it.

The poor OP just wanted to say how good his clutch is and this happens, gotta love forum warriors!
El on here has bought this clutch and is running 290bhp 320+ lb/ft stage 2 LCR. I've driven the car and he is very impressed with the setup. I was also stunned how oem it felt and also there was minimal noise from it on idle. Time will tell how good a clutch is but let's not shoot down someone for buying a product. Its their choice at the end of the day NOT yours.
El also drives his car hard and to date has had no problems with this kit. I don't know anyone else other than the OP and El who has bought the kit to date so can't comment further.

Spirit Furtive is an amateur internet Troll, who has contributed nothing worthwhile to this forum.
If I was buying a new clutch for a stage 1 or 2 mapped car I certainly would be looking to spend 6 - 8 hundred pounds on one. Surely that's enough for what you need for daily driving......
If you are going to drive it hard all the time with full throttle launches then by all means spend over a grand on one....
