Back seats creaking

Hi there,

Just acquired a 2020 ex VWFS lease 290 Cupra in Mystery Blue.

Very happy with it so far, the torque is incredible compared to my old Mazda CX-5!

One issue I have solved is a creaking noise from the rear seats.

Whenever the chassis flexed, you could hear a creaking coming from the back. I found if I pushed the centre rear headrest back, on the 60% split section, it creaked.

I've wrapped some black electrical tape around the brackets that the seats lock onto, and its shut it up for now. I guess you could grease them also.

Mine seems to be on the variable servicing, although I cant find a data sticker in the boot. Is there any other way to tell?

What's the opinion on that? Is it better just to have an annual service for turbo and timing chain life?

If you plan on keeping the car long term then 10k or 12 months for a service is what you should stick to.

I agree. At a very minimum at least change the oil and oil filter.

These long service intervals benefit no one but the manufacturers.

I might sign up for Seat service plan for 2 services £22.50 a month.
