I was about to bloody buy, a new exhaust for my 1.4 16v DAB. When I got home today. I looked under my car, and noticed that its is not a traditional silencer, it goes tail pipe - silencer - pipe - bend - pipe - cat - then the joint.
A traditional exhaust is tailpipe-silencer- small pipe - joint?
How can i order i new Peco back box when, the only split is after the cat[:@] [:@]

why would you want to add a peco box aswell you might aswell just put a trim on the tail pipe
or buy an exhaust that might actualy make a difference

I think my old mk3 had a one piece zorst

I had a small pin hole in it and got quoted silly money for a complete system

they wouldn't cut it off and fit just a back box cos the join would be the wrong way for the flow of the gasses :wtf:

so I found a place local that would weld up the pin hole, it lasted another year until I PX'd it

Trust me guys ive looked at loads of exhaust, Peco, Magnex, Remus, Milltek, Scorpion. And the only ones that do a back box for a 1.4 16v was Peco (They were not my first choice) Then I thought ill get a Cupra/Fr box.
But im Stumped at the fact that there is no joint/split until after the cat?

a means of making you buy a complete system if ever it fails

if you really insist on buying a new rear silencer, then just buy one and just like others have said, cut the stock system and fit the new on in, a decent fitter could even weld it on for 40quid job done, and if thats the case you could just buy any old universal back box

but seriously why bother, all a peco is gonna do is make a loud droning sound, nothing sporty or cool about a peco

just get some tailpipe trim and bolt it on. job done for a fiver

Cheers mate. I thought i was screwed, seeing as you had a DAB, you obviously had the same system as me. So ill be doing that, getting a cupra back box. and just let someone deal with it. they'll probably cut it then join it then weld it.
