Anybody had a straight through pipe fitted instead of backbox. My backbox about knackered and was thinking of putting straight through pipe in place with tips welded on. I have an fr cr170, ive seen a few vids on you tube with v good results in sound and bhp. Anybody done this also what is the sound like and any proven bhp gains. Also will it still pass mot. I have stage 1 remap and dpf delete also.

I have a straight though pipe on my CR170 with remap. It sounds good. You get a lower rumble coming from the exhaust. If I am right in saying, a straight through pipe with a dpf delete does sound very loud! I'm sure there are various vids on YouTube. Gain will probably be maybe 5bhp if that. It should pass an mot as a backbox doesn't reduce emissions. You may have a problem passing mot with your dpf delete though....
Maybe someone else can expand on mot passing with dpf delete as I don't have one.

I think the DPF delete depends on the MOT'er and his knowledge of the cars. If he doesnt know where the DPF should be then no issues but if he knows there should be a DPF fitted there then it may be a fail. My old Touran had a DPF delete but where the DPF used to sit it wasnt visible on an MOT.
As for the backbox delete you should have no issues, i had a cat back side exit fitted on my Passat with no boxes and that passed.

I'm going Tony banks leeds in month or so for custom exhaust from dpf back with large tips.
If the car came factory fitted with dpf it has to have one for mot it's the law.

Just had the backbox deleted and a 2.5" pipe put in its place with 4" slash cut tips!!
