you can hear the knocking just before the beep

i had something similar, ended up being one of my ignition coils onits way out. The sound was continuous and catalyst started o over heat

I get this on my leon sometimes, almos a back firing when it is cold and quite a stutter. only happens when its cold

I think its one of the coils on its way out

if you have a coil lying around, try swapping the coils out

yeah, give it a hard rev and it goes away

I have 4 new coils on order so will swap them out when it goes in for the turbo build and remap

no, certianly not on my issue mate

but then my engine management light is permanantly on due to my race cat

Ah right i think i can hear it. It sounds like a grinding cracking sound about 4 seconds into the clip?

no, what you hear in both clips is it

finally some1 got the same noise as me! have you actually established what it is? only happens on really cold mornings
