i personally hate the idea of any debadging i think it looks boyracer and takey imo why hide what you got??!!!! if anything just spray the badge black or dark grey

Surprise! :D so when the little pr**ks come tailgating you through busy traffic or something, they don't know what it is. Til you leave them nowhere to be seen! I personally wind them up on purpose in their 1.4 Astras and 1.2 Clios. ;) although you can tell yours isnt gonna be slow from its looks, mine looks not much. so makes it even better! I love it!

from that website it looks like the honeycombe front grill part number is 6L0853651E as in the pic its listed as 1a then in the left colum its (1) from what i can see.. now we just need a price lol (could any1 from seat put this number throught there computer to see if this is the honeycombe grill please!!!

Right - badgeless grill arrived today and maybe I'm being a complete duffas but I can't work out how to easily get the old one off. I have searched this forum and found a thread where someone asked the same question - one guy implied that you had to take the whole front bumper off where as another said that you just need to give it a good tug!
There seems to be two plastic caps that are holding the orriginal grill in place at the top which don't want to budge. I tried un-doing the four allen key style bolts that hold in the plastic surround but still no joy.
I like to think of myself as being fairly mechanically minded (I used to have a custom Beetle which I did most of the mechanics for) but these new euro cars are all allen keys and plastic caps etc!
Incidently the debadged grill didn't come with any instructions and I've had the car for less than a week so don't want to go forcing and possibly breaking things already.
There's probably a really simple answer to this but any help would be appreciated.

I'd have thought if they were tailgating you they wouldnt be able to see the grille anyway

This has been tried before, infact I think a couple of guys must've been checking it for over a year or more. I think it says 'not available' or something along those lines

Remover 2 screws,

PULL forward/towards you

ta-dah

noooo! Rash said he isn't a fan of debagding at all as its boy racerish. The second day I had my car I took off the boot badges. Rash commented saying something like "Why hide what you've got?" i thought he meant like, spec. like boot badges as its pretty obv what you've got if its just the grille badge. maybe just me. sorry chappy.

i dont do badges at all...too much clutter and too much tatt...

smooth ass is the way forward :)

ta-dah[/QUOTE]

where it looks like there should 2 screws holding the top of the centre grill, on my car there is 2 plastc caps that won't budge. any ideas?

The cap works in two ways to remove, smaller inner cap pull up with pliers or similar, that releases lower cap and pull that up too, then pull grill towards you.

there are plastic caps not screws mate :ban:
how the works is they are like little bungs that clip in basically so it's placed in the whole then the centre bit of the bung is pressed in and it exands the rest of the clip so it doesn't budge, so basilally do the revesre of this and the y should come out. hope you get what i mean here, as it is fairly hard to explain

Personally, I like davels new front grill, the caved in look is true Euro style...

last reply now before admin tells us of for thread hi jacking:whistle:

the bumpers is only like that for extra cooling of the intake temps thats all so ner!

(i think the "so ner!" comment seals it nicely don't you:D ;) )

Finally got the grill on... still managed to bust both small inner caps with my heavy handed plier skills though

I'm no boy racer but think it makes the front end look a little more tidy.

Thanks for the help.

40k Service, pd160 air intake and coilovers next + remap at some point. Had the car less than a week and already planning fettling it... and I thought I had grown out of all of that!
