Basically I had a couple of small boost leaks recently, 1 on the nearside intercooler coupler and 1 on the red turbo pipe.
Obviously i had the usual psssshh noises when under load and these were resolved by replacing all of the clips and seals throughout the boost system and fitting a Creation motorsport turbo pipe.
Ideally i could have done with replacing the intercooler pipe but i put a single 8x1'' self tapping screw in all the joints in the system so that they could never blow apart which seems to have worked....BUT...
Since I've done this I've now seem to have a loud whooshy turbo when under load, whats different to boost leak noises ive experienced in the past on other TDI's is that it continues as the turbo is slowing down as well?
The noise seems to dampen down at higher speeds up the gears and on the motorway it drives absolutely fine you cant hear anything.
I'm wondering if its VNT or actuator related or anything to do with installing an aftermarket turbo pipe with a larger opening in the coupler as i noticed when i dissected the original pipe that the opening is considerably smaller and appears to have some kind of baffle or resonator inside it.

No, not the TIP. Im talking about the red turbo pipe that attaches onto the pancake pipe.
