I've bought the terminals from trebormint earlier post, hopefully will make things easier and simpler to return to standard when the time comes

Okay terminals Have arrived, however, they are **slightly** too big. The terminals on the battery are relatively soft, if I screw the terminals in with some grit and determination they should work right??

The photo doesn't show a nut, but there should be a nut on the inside of the battery terminal and that is what your adapter should screw into. If you just force the adapter into the battery terminal without a nut on, it will work loose in no time.

Sorted, I think :)

Flat head screwdriver to make holes a tiny bit bugger And some patient turning of spanner et voila

Sorry mate but that is a proper bodge job! You have the wrong terminals, the threaded portion is to big. The lead part of the battery terminal should be pulled up tight to the lead part of your new terminal, to give you the best possible electrical connection.

If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing right!

Can you get these screw terminals in different sizes? If not, you could always get a nut the same size as the thread and use instead of oem one?

I used bike connnectors so I didn't have this problem

The terminals should fit, I dont know what other terminals to buy. As above can You get ones witg a smaller screw. I can screw it more in so its connecting better. It is far from perfect but I'd rather this so I can return to standard battery without buying new wiring.

I'm going to cut the screw so when I screw It back in it fits tight to the terminal.

Yeah that should be fine. Well done. Unless I inspected close up, it would look like it came like that. Now you have the joy of trying to undo the rusty bolt holding the oem battery in. Actually I just realized that you won't have that problem if yours is I'm the boot.

Things are always confusing 1st time, if you had to do it again it would be easy. Make sure you disconnect negetive if left 7 days or more

Hah, yeah the bolts are fine however I have a new issue, as its in the boot. Ive got negative going to earth. I've got a little banded wire(vent plug maybe?, does this need to be put in new battery?) Then I have red wire connecting to positive, as well as a thick black wire AND what looks like a sensor of some kind all basically fed into the positive. See photo. At least its Sunny outside .....

Any help appreciated.

Cheers biker. I'm going to get a nut to lock it more in place.

I'm thinking(hoping) the various connectors/plastic encloser on the positive side can come off and just reattach to the new battery.

Yeah I figured, I've had it sorted now For a while. All is well. Seems easier/neater to Have it on the stand in the front. Theres less to tie the battery to :) going to fling it around a few corners make sure it holds steady and to get used to the new lighter rear end

Just make sure you fill it lol. Hope it works well I feel responsible. I will show you pics of my cutoff switch, you may decide you want one

Its been filled with the acid, I've ran it a bit today to get some charge in it.

Im guna get some better cable ties too :)
