Hi,

Last year my battery died and I found a replacement via the halfords battery finder , I went for the calcium battery 44amps.

Spoke to a few dealers today to locate a part (battery fuse holder) and they said my car should have a 60amp battery.

Will having a 44amp battery cause any problems? as I changed the battery last winter and never had a problem with it so far.

Thanks

If your car starts first time every time then don't worry about the capacity. Ah (amp hours) only comes into play when you have a car that needs a lot of turning over to start, or if you have a large ICE system, or similarly large loads. In most cars the battery is a higher capacity than it needs to be. You might want to check the cranking capacity of the 44Ah and 60Ah batteries, but you should find they're both very similar (>100Ah usually)

Going the other way, whenever I've had troublesome cars (and I've had LOTS of them!!) I always replace it with a higher capacity battery. That way when I do have trouble starting it, I know I won't flatten the battery.

Thanks for your reply,
Never had a problem starting the car, had it nearly a year hope it stays that way!

Thanks again
