Hi guys,

I have fitted a new double DIN android stereo system into my car yesterday.

However last night my battery was dead and needed to be jump started.

I had an OBD II installed that wasn't properly communicating with my phone or the system so I have disconnected it and hopefully that was the issue but I fear it probably isn't.

I read about lads having issues with battery drain on their official SEAT sat navs they were fitting themselves and that the CANBUS needed to be upgraded to a newer version for pre 2008 cars.(mine is an 07)

Here's a picture of my CANBUS below.

In the factory settings, there is an option to turn off the CANBUS (which i don't want to do really) or there is an option for " Simple - GOLF7" or an "Audi A3 or A4" that I could try.

What would happen if I turn the CANBUS off also?

Thanks for the help.

Adam

Might not be anything to do with the canbus. I've got a 2007 leon and I've been using a RCD 510 for 3 years with no battery drain. It only seemed to effect vw's.

Hopefully not Tundra mate.

Swapped out the Radio connector also from the one I got with it to the one recommended in the After market radio thread also so hopefully it will still start tomorrow for work :)

Still getting battery drain guys.

My sister tried to start the car today and it wouldn't start.
The OBD is removed and the radio fakra cable has been changed to the recommended one by the guys on here.

It was last driving on Sunday but has been sitting idle since then and now won't start.

Is this normal for the car to drain within 4 days or how long should it last idle?

Yeah as I thought but any ideas on why the batt is being drained and what I can do to test or fix it?

Out of curiosity which android system you got ? Any links as looking for one myself to run Spotify

I'm sure there is something about this on the mk5gti forum, along the lines of theses sort of head units draining the battery and there's a online thingy you can put in to stop it. Sorry for been a little vage about it but I'm trying to remember. Ha ha give me a few mins I'll try find it!

Thanks Big Lee. I have been googling this for the past week.

If you couyld find it that would be great.

Also Mwat I have the Android 4.2.2 Pure Android its made by a seller Winlink on Aliexpress.

GreenYI also makes similar ones but if you google Huifei Double Din stereo you will find a big xda thread on it.
