Hey does any1 know how to take the ariel off want to fit a new 1 thanx

yep few asked this now so i did a vid unscrew then pull!

Just cut the aerial thats already on to the height you want it. Quite a few people have done this.

yes as the whip bit makes up about 3% of the coil of the areal the other 97% is in the fat bit

trust me you will still get a perfect reception

or like me you can fit a honda civic stubby one

yep i cut mine then blck marker on the top to get rid of the white bit. but this wasnt good with my jvc head unit no radio. but fine with alana hu

yeah the alana head unit has an areal amplifier built in

Removing Aerial

Just tried unscrewing the aerial and then pulling but it would not move. My car is a 54 reg is there anything I should do different.

pull harder, sounds stupid but there is nothing holding it in, or well there wasnt on mine and Iv never heard of it being held in by anything. It is normally very very hard to pull off the first time, its anti theft. (think seat know chavs are week). O and I think in the video its been off before, which makes it come off easier not 100% though

been off twice but that was pulling pretty hard
mines a 54 plate car so no difference in the areal

changed mine now. Had 2 pull really hard, does come off though its on a 05 plate thanx for all your help guys

gaz with his supre strongness 1 handed pulling, I was 2 handed riving at it and falling back when it did come off, but then again Im week lol. jkjk. O and yes I still have it I just wanted 2 see if it wud come off.

Well, my aerial looks stuffed, so i'll be needing anew one (thread looks worn)

Also, I've changed head units, and radio reception is pants. What can I do ?

Yes, but there's no help for Dave in there.

Seems the alana has it's own amplifier, and the Pioneer HU that replaced it does not. I had the same problem on my Octavia, but I never bothered to fix it.

This time, i'm going to.
