Right I am going to start building a leon 1m race car. It's currently a 1.8t 180 with a ko3s. But do I go ko4 set up or ko3 hybrid. I don't want lag. Some one has recommended a beach buggy turbo k300. I am Lost on all this turbo stuff. Any help and info is welcome

I suppose the ko4 will hit higher peak bhp but even they are governed to around the 300bhp mark

Garrett setup if money allows it.
Gt28 = 260-360whp
Gt30 = 300-450whp.
Ko4 hybrid = 300 crank.

Seems ok till you look at the overall cost, 5-6k for a kkk set up is crazy. Agreed replacement turbo will be cheaper but a Garrett on track won't be beaten. More lag "tiny depending on setup" but on track lag shouldn't make a difference.
I see the hybrid as a cheaper option but now a day it's silly money.
I can buy an old jabba set up now for 500. Mani,down, injectors and td05. Mani is new.
Many bt setups go pretty cheap so I don't see the point in wasting money on something you will get board with and want an upgrade. 64 isn't all that.

Think I gonna go ko3 hybrid. . Is a ported and match cast manifold up to the job or a purpose made one worth the money. Not even going to consider the £200 jobs on eBay. Heard many stories of them cracking.
So next up bbt k300. Or I seen some ko3 with rs6 Internals. What's people running and how's it been

If it's a straight race car then just run proper ALS, no issues with lag then.
