Hi there

Jumped into my car tonite, started the car fine, but when i pulled out of the drive way, it started going "Beep..Beep..Beep..Beep" when I reached about 5mph. By this time I was about 30 yards up the road, so i stopped, and so did the beeping, but as soon As i started to reverse back home it started Beeping again. My dad told me to try again, and the same thing happened again. So my dad took it round the block and it never beeped once!

I checked the door was shut, there was no warning light on. I thought it was because there was a risk of frost, but the "*" type symbol wasn't on and normally if it is that it just goes "Bing", like a seat belt sign on an aircraft.

Any ideas??

Thanks.

Handbrake on? That beeps constantly if you leave it on. Plus would explain why it didnt do iy when your dad took it round

Proably not the temp then...I didn't know there was a handbrake noise..I'll give it a go in the snow tomorrow :D

i was going to assume it was coolant warning beep? no red light flashing?

ive been getting it in my mk3 lately, levels are fine and obviously not overheating cos its happening when the car is stone cold...put it down to a dodgy sensor reading. drive for a minute and the beeping stops

just a theory

coolant beep is three beeps and then it stops. Ice beep is a single aircraft style 'bong' - it must be the handbrake warning.

Continuous beeping until you stop and then starts again when you set off - must be.

yup defo sounds like your handbrake warning tone!

1 way to find out next time your in your car drive off with your handbrake slightly on if it sounds the same give yourself a SPAM :p
