belt change advise.

I've just asked same thing and no reply.

I changed mine Sunday because I thought it was 4years/40,000 however in my service book it says 80,000 miles for diesel. However that service book is that same for all cars so I don't think it's accurate.

i have just looked in my service book for my car and it says i need to do one at 60k

Yeah and 80,000 for diesel.

My belt I took off looked immaculate when I took it off and when I inquired about another car the first they asked me was has you car had the cambelt changed.

So I prosumed 4 years was the maximum.

100k for your CR mate, big improvement On the PD for some reason

Early pd 40k or 4 years
Later pd 60k or 4 years
Cr 80k or 4 years

Pretty sure mines 100k, might be later CR. But always 4 years

From an "up-sell" point of view then yes.

From a real world point of view no.

I dont recall ever seeing a PD belt fail TBH.

Lol I didn't have it from new! But to me petrol or diesel is personal preference, please can we not get into a what's best for who discussion with amount of mileage on this thread, sorry don't mean to sound an ass bud, but this thread could be quite helpful for people who are unsure when the belts need changing.

Mines on its 4 years soon (cr140) well I dunno 'cos it's a 59 plate but was registered in January 2010. It's only done 45k so I'm alright leaving it till the new year right?

I'm also getting it mapped tomorrow (!!!!!!!!), that won't cause any problems with the cambelt with it? With it having upped performance I have been worrying..
