Hay there want to get my car waxed, has any body used any good 1's..?
And has any body used any **** 1's..? Let me no if you can, would be a big help..
Or if you live by Cardiff and no some body who could do the car for me, don't mind paying..
I switched allegiance from AutoGlym to Meguiars when I found our local discount department store had started getting hold of surplus goodies from Meguiars and was flogging them off at less than half price; happy days!
Waxing isn't a common thing in this house these days; the FreeTrack and the Vectra get the clay bar treatment once a year and are then resin polished and have a coat of sealant put on top; takes me a weekend to do them, but the difference in not only appearance, but how the bodywork feels, is beyond belief. Subsequent washing is much easier too and the cars look better for longer.
I did consider paying somebody to do the work for me, but I quite like the reward at the end and it also gives me a chance to see what the paint's like and identify any areas that need repairing, so it serves a purpose.
Im somewhat of a detailing enthusiast. Autoglym is good. Especially the shampoo. Id go for a paste wax sealant. I used to use dodo juice supernatural hybrid. But its quite expensive. I found that collinite 476s gives excellent shine and durability. Easy to use. Takes about an hour to do an altea if you use it sparingly which you should otherwise it can be a pain to buff off. Great protection and beading. And lasts up to a year. Makes it a 5 min job to wash the car after. I typically use autoglym super resi. Polish. 2 coats of collinite and thats it for the year. Ive also tried armorall shield. Aboht £12. A bottle on ebay. Its very very quick. No need to wait for a haze. And it gives the same result as the best waxes ive used. The only draeback is that is washes off in about 5-10 washes. But its so quick to re apply. Ive used all sorts in the past. Ranging from £100 waxes to autoglym hd wax dodo juice and collinite is the best price for results ive used. 150g tin is 15 quid and will last you longer than the car will most likely.
Its a wax paste thats a sealant. There all hybrid waxes these days. Old paste wax was really soft. Collinite and dodojuice supernatural hybrid are harder and have a sealant property added rather than just a straight carnuba wax. G3 wax is more like an old style paste. Its softer but works the same as any other wax. I meant a paste wax as opposed to a liquid type wax. Probably not the greatest explanation. The only liquid type wax ive used which is ok like a said earlier is armorall shield. Ill try and upload some pics later of my car with the different waxes to show what results are. You can get panel pots of dodojuice for about 6 quid on ebay. Itll do a car 2 or 3 times. Big pots are about 25 to 30 for a 100g. But it makes your car look amazing. Collinite is about the same. Zymol if you can get it is a 100% carnuba and costs thousands per pot. And you can eat it. I think it was on top gear once. Ive had a small amount bought at a car show for 50 quid. Did my caf once and it was outstanding. Not worth the money they want though.
