best exhaust system to use

Hi all,

I am looking for opinions on which is the best exhaust system from the manifold back on my ibiza 2.0 16v abf. I currently have a custom made Longlife Exhausts on with the 6"x4" oval backbox on, it's been on for a few years now and to be honest it's getting too loud and rattles like you wouldn't believe right under where the handbrake is, and I am sick of jacking it up trying to adjust it around to stop rattling and blowing.
I quite like the system on the 2002 Cupra R's, well the twin pipe back box anyway. Is there any other options for me or have I pretty much had it on that coz all of the enquiries I have made have came back with the same system already in place.

Any feedback on here would be great.

Cheers
Dave.

the mk3 cupra system will fit with no or very little mods! some of us 1.4 boys have them fitted with a reducer after the cat! there are other makes out there. just got to look abit harder.

Well no one really makes a exhuast for the ABF now. Magnex did but they now gone bye bye! You could always go custom again and try the likes of Simpson Exhaust who produce exhaust for race cars and the likes, I'm currently having mine built my Powerspeed who is a sister company of Saxon Motorsport (who's fitting my throttle bodies) and they have done tests to see what works on the GTi's, etc....

Could always fit the standard Mk3 20vT or I know people have fitted the aftermarket exhausts for the Mk3 Ibiza onto the Mk2's but the diameter for a turbo is usually 2.5" and for N/A engines it's 2 1/4" so isn't really designed for the N/A engine.

Im one of the 1.4 boys with the Cupra R backbox, well its actually full system from cat back. Although Im binning the centre section for a straight through pipe.

You are able to get the MK3 Cupra R backbox from TPS, a Vw-Audi parts specialist. You are only usually able to get the parts trade but the garage I use has an account with them so I get them to order a new backbox in for me when the old one went, was roughly a year ago.

dave, are powerspeed making you a stainless system? if so, is it proper stainlees steel unlike that crap that other people use which starts rusting after a short length of time?

most of that rust you see on the exhuasts is just surface rust. Not sure what grade they use might say on the web site.... I'm more thinking of the design of it at the moment :)
