best mpg on a long trip

I've managed an average of 75.4mpg over a 38 mile trip (starting with a cold engine!). That was a mix of town, a-roads and m'ways.
Did require a lot of restraint though! 60mph all the way. Should have seen the soot that got kicked out when I put my foot down after all that tootling!

Hi Ppl,
Went to Blackpool the other day and was on the motorway for well over 100 miles and averaged 64.8 in my cupra tdi and it hasn't even bedded inn yet as its only done 10,000 miles ! was not going too slow either, never went under 60 all the way.
That's gotta be pretty dam good , well im happy either was as b4 I had a impreza type r and was averaging jut 18mpg lol.

LOL, with my driving I usually get around 15-20 MPG in city driving, my best on a long trip was about 40 though, and driving really carefully, guess the 2 liter latin american market engine isnt very efficient then.

so mpg is not rteally a problem then if it costs 14 quid to fill it costs me about 46 quid!

62.4 is my best so far over 110 miles sitting at 65-70 most of the way

14 quid is still a lot of money to spend on gas, especially if I can do only about 150 miles with it.
