Starting with a standard k03 cupra, which is the best sequence of performance mods?

And then what when you reach the limits of the k03 and in which order.

OK

1. Forge 007 recirc valve
2. Induction kit
3. Cat back exhaust
4. Remap
5. forge front mounted intercooler

Then you will be needing a ko3s turbo from a leon etc to get the full benefit of the cooler, along with that you will need a down pipe and race cat (if you can afford it) then the next stage of remap and a 4 bar fuel regulator, you should be pushing 240 bhp+ then, anything more than that your looking at big money on an ihi upgrade dude. :p

im wondering why do u ask?? when u have revo already

in my opinion from what i've felt is that a remap is the most beneficial mod there is, other things like filters, cat back exhaust, downpipe an cat and a fmic are only good if they are all used together

and dispite what i used to believe, a remap should be the first mod rather than the last and if after a remap ur not impressed with the performance...then sell!

too many people are jumping on the k03s wagon and thinking that its amazing when the fact is they've boutght every other mod available anyway and dont really have a valid opinion on whether the k03 would have been much worse

if anything i doubt very much that there a massive difference between an ibiza fitted with a k03s and all the necessary mods to go with it and an ibiza with stock turbo remapped, turbo back exhaust, filter and fmic

i know there are a few mk3 owners who have done pretty much everything they can to their cars without swapping the turbo, but without comparing their cars properly to one with a k03s, its highly pointless swapping

sorry if this seems a rant, it wasnt intended as one but more some hopefully wise advice. i know i intend on acquiring a DP to complete my exhaust and an fmic to get the temps down abit more...but any further an i think id rather buy an evo

agree with the above, if you're happy with the standard performance and just want to give it a little extra, a remap will survice along with the obligatory 007p and CAI.

That's the way I'm going anyway, I'm happy with 180bhp and have the dump valve and filter so my next planned mod is a remap. Don't think I'll be going for FMIC, k03s or race CAT because I'm not looking to extract every last bit of horsepower out of my engine. Just want to improve on what I've got.

On the other hand I have a lot of respect for these guys who go the whole hog with an IHI or similar and it must be great having all thay power. For me though I couldnt justify the expence and would rather save up and change the car for something that is quicker in the first place.

In reply to the question which mods first I'd say (in no particular order):

007p
CAI
remap
rear spacers
4 pots
maybe seat sport or coilovers

I will be taking my car as far as it can without swapping the turbo. Due for stg1 revo this thursday.

Current engine mods are - forge 007p, forge fmic, dynatwist
Stuff im waiting on - supersprint system
Stuff im waiting to order - forge tip, milltek dp/cat, 4bar

Once I have the 4bar, ill get the car upto revo stg2 and that'll be it for the engine. I'll be happy with a solid reliable 210hp, any more is just a bonus.

Suspension/brakes is a whole other credit card

Personally, im not bothered about the numbers. The car could produce 240hp on one dyno and 200 on another, I take the readings with a pinch of salt. Theyre just pub figures.

Real world performance is where its at, as long as I regard it as quick then I'll keep smiling. When I stop, ill get shot of the car.

Just wanted to provoke a bit of discussion really mate, intrested in what route people have taken.

Few questions, why do most recommend a DV so early on, I can't see much benefit personally.

Also, my intake temps were 46c the other day (stock cooling) How will a FMIC benefit me? Saying that I have yet to up the boost with an SP3.

Thanks

Beacuse the standard bosch dv is pretty cack.

I was sceptical about buying a FMIC too! Made a big difference, car was smoother and pulled a lot better top end.

I find the top end really limp on a revo'd cupra, say past 4750rpm. Probably because there's a big wollop of torque that drops quite steeply, I'd like to improve this though.

certainly provoked something lol

as an example i done some logs other night an was seeing 37C intake temps on stock I/C car felt great. but last summer though i didnt have vagcom to log temps...they were probably up in the 60s and the car felt very restricted

it only takes a slightly hot day to know u want a fmic

yeah exactly, the stock SMIC will be fine in this weather but as soon as summer comes I know I'll be struggling.

Regarding ARB's, do they make a noticable difference and what sort of price would I be looking at for an upgrade.
