In front of a PC....
Hey All,

After a week of my new Leon, I have found a scratch on the driver side door. Its about 2" long and you can see it in a certain light. I know its there and if I don't do anything about it I will go nuts :D
So I was wondering since its a fine scratch (not deep at all) what was the best way to touch up the paint?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex

The prblem with touch ups is they will leave a trail even more noticeable than the scratch. Try using a colour renovation wax, turtle wax do them i think. It will do a better job on a small scratch than a touch up.

Something like this product:

Thanks for the help guys, I am going to get the car detailed in a couple of weeks times so will see if it can be polished out or buffed out then. If so I will just have the touch up stick pen as back up.

This applies to deeper scratches/chips really but after much searching I eventually found the page I was looking for.

I've not seen anyone ever use a touch-up pen before and make it look any good but the guy on that site seems to be capable!

The Cupra I have just bought has 3 marks down one side from a key  so i'm looking at ways to get it fixed without obviously going down the route of a respray.

Megs scratch X from Halfords mate - great stuff, will either make is disappear or significantly reduce it.

^^^ yeah id try this rather than t-cut or anything like that. it requires a lot of elbow grease but it will definately do as BJM says.
