Best way to clean screen wash bottle?

Hi,

I have a 2019 FR and there isn't any screen wash left in the reservoir and was wondering what's the best way to clean/flush the bottle as I would like to put in some Prestone and don't want it to mix with whatever was in there before. I was thinking of putting in a litre of water and empty it out via the jets but not sure if that's the best way to clean it?

Remove it altogether. Then flush and dry?

I've used a Miltons sterilising tablet in washer bottles before to clean them out, added hot water and left to cool , I then just work the pump until bottle empty.
