BIG port head SMALL port manifold

I have the AGU engine which has a big port head and a big port manifold. unfortunately i cannot fit TT injectors into the manifold, and so i have to install a small port manifold onto the big port head. not an ideal situation, but is there any downfall because of this?

Just thinking, as the LCR's and what not all have the small port manifold and they can be mapped to 270 which im aiming for, so the small port mani, on the big head cant be too much of a disadvantage no?

i might bore out the mani a bit if theres enough material to help the flow a bit more.

Thats what i mean by big and small port manifolds. The head i have is the big one that suits the manifold.

i've not seen a stock largeport intake mani before but can you just replace the injector seats to allow the 380cc to be fitted.
Another option is to go for an aftermarket largeport manifold such as the SEM, APR etc etc. these will all take your desired injectors.

aftermarket manifold is a no no, too much cash that i just dont have :(

Replacing the injector seats isnt possible either as the threads in the holders are different and as such cant be swapped about...

ill have to have a peep and see how much material there is to potentially grind away... the joys eh

why dont u jus buy different injectors to suit the agu manifold ?

Did you ever find a solution to this problem as I have just baught an AGU manifold.. what injectors do you use now?

Just done a bit of research and I think the agu manifold fits EV1 injectors??

Thats a photo for reference, the EV1 type are what fit in the AGU manifold
EV6 is the type that the LCR/TT/S3 etc use...

Unfortunately you cant swap them from one to the other...

I was running mine with the small port manifold on a large port head.
Im now running a GT28 so when it gets mapped ill see if i can fit the new injectors into the AGU manifold which im sure ill be able to do as my new injectors are fairly slim...

Im sure you could get a big port manifold with the inlet on the drivers side though thatll take the TT/LCR/S3 injectors, i wasnt too clued up at the time, so i presumed they all be the same

Good site for referencing large vs small port manifolds to engine codes

I have yet to buy my injectors and after having a search bosch do make 550cc injectors in EV1 fitment so it shouldnt be a problem.

They were used in 1974! god there ancient lol

I already got my AGU manifold through today and it came with the different fuelrail ect. so I should be ok.

I just cant bring myself to run a smallport manifold on a largeport head, its criminal!
