Scrapped the old thread as it was getting way too big with random oh should I do this, nah, yes, nah sort of stuff :ban:
good to start over.

Got another cheeky photo of something i might put up

Ouch mate, looks like they've done a cracking job though, the front looks brand new :D

Yeah fair play though, big change, new thread heh. Nothing like a new start

Post it up bud :D

Edit: Darkening the seats? Looks good

i've put the photos up in previous post just now. the front bumper does look a bit different to the other paint colour, then again so does the rear bumper and everything else i've had sprayed. guessing my paint has faded quite a bit

Win :) was a bit sceptical about trying this but it really does add a subtle difference. will be doing the front seats and door cards tomorrow. Great thing about this stuff is that is doesn't key to any hard surface it only darkens the fabric. bought one bottle then realised I wouldnt have enough so got 3 more. All in all 40 quid to do the interior (+p&p) is a result

Can you send me a link mate? I've been after some dark seats for ages, this would be perfect :D

good to see you have your car back on the road, can you not get your bent wheel repaired with a wheel specialist rather than getting a new one?

Um i wouldn't know if it's possible it looks pretty bad, i'll put a pic up later on to show you

@stezo. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Upholstery-...r_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1286562054&sr=8-1 that's the stuff I used, there's another one on there £2 cheaper but I don't know what that's like. i recommend getting 4 instead of a couple then another lot, saves postage. got to properly shake them up and when you spray them rub it right into the fabric otherwise it gets a lil patchy.

Mate, you're a legend :D you've just saved me a fortune buying new seats as I can't stand the grey anymore after seeing quite a lot of facelifts during meetups

Thanks again

Edit: BTW, was it easy to apply? Did you have take out the seats? Also if the paint gets on say the plastic, does it come off easily? Hope it aint messy and the paint doesn't transfer haha. I think i'll go with this tbh. Looks fantastic

Car is looking good as ever. Looks like a cracking job on the repairs.

Nice idea with the seats as well. That few shades darker makes a huge difference, looks so much better. The gray seats that come with the car really arnt nice, hate the colour more each time I get in the car!

+1 mate, i'm completely with you there :)

btw one more question will, sorry to be a pain in the arse. does the rubber bit on the back of the seats/headrest dye too? i can imagine it will be a pain if it can dye that too i'm sold :D

Thanks for more comments guys :) Not sure what you mean about the rubber bit, but basically any material that water can absorb into, the dye will, the good part is that if you get it on any plastic etc. it'll will just wipe off, or if it has dried, it'll flake off no worries.

Applying isn't too bad either, I've only done the rear seats so far as they were already out of the car when it was in the garage. just shake it up, when you get an even spray, do small parts at a time and then really rub it in and spread it with your hands, do it until you think it's finished, step back and if you notice any light patches, quick spray another rub and your done. Dry off with hairdryer and in a couple of hours they're dry enough to go back in/be used.
enjoy
oh and PS i was cheap and i didn't spray the bits that don't show e.g. the side of the seat in the middle :p

EDIT: Oh do you mean the pocket holder thingy on the back of the front seats when you said rubber bit? I haven't tried it but if it's not water absorbent then it won't. I might have to work out another thing for that. Anyway instead of pricey retrim, simple colour change is ftw

i think the agenda for the weekend is:
Dye the front seats and if i got enough left, the door cards as well.
Give it a bloody good clean
Get them front coils down!
Future agenda: When I get a new wheel or get this one repaired if possible, I'm gonna be scrapping those crap budget tyres and getting some nice directionals. TBH i'm thinking they were an added factor to the crash, even my steels have more grip!

Sounds awesome mate, really does :D sounds like the perfect thing for me. Are the seats easy to take out btw? Sorry about all the questions haha, I just really want to do the same heh

Yeah thats the rubber bit I meant bud, but also i'm pretty sure the back of the headrests are slightly rubberised, did they take the paint ok? Let me know how you get on and if you manage to get that sorted I'm gunna go for it ASAP, looks a fantastic mod.

Yeah changing the tyres for winter is a great idea I think, last thing you want is non grippy tyres in the winter. I find Toyo T1Rs are good for grip and price too, I got a full set for mine for £200 delivered which is funky, had to pay to get them fitted but small price to pay heh

Keep up the good work :D the cars looking even better than before heh
